Our History

In 1998, Dr. T. Wayne Giles, Sr., took the church under the name of Pleasant Grove Community Baptist Church, shortly after the former pastor passed away. Under the direction of Pastor Dr. Giles, the name was changed to Trinity Baptist Church.

Initially, a gospel singer and lay preacher named George Pierce assisted the church until Dr. Larry Varndell found out they needed a pastor. Dr. Varndell helped Mr. Pierce until Pastor Dr. Giles took the pastorship from 1998 to 1999. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pastor Dr. Giles left the church, but would return in 2006. When Pastor Dr. Giles left the first time, Mr. Jason Call pastored for a short period and then Dr. Larry Varndell pastored for several years, after that, Pastor Dr. Giles returned in 2006, and pastored until he passed away in the Fall of 2009.

The current pastor is Rev. Neal Polaske, who formerly served under Dr. Giles as Associate Pastor for Trinity Baptist Church.
